Allergy Cures

Millions of people suffer with what seems like an ever-increasing gamut of seasonal and non-seasonal allergies. More and more varieties are popping up all of the time, each more peculiar than the last. Allergies to wheat, strawberries, and even sunlight. Obviously, it doesn't take a scientist to tell you that these aren't real "illnesses" and that there is nothing normal about this phenomenon. The allergy epidemic is due primarily to our compromised immune systems.

Understanding Seasonal Allergies

It may seem like some grand mystery as to why you suddenly turn into a ball of snot every spring due to Hay Fever, or why "for as long as you can remember, oranges make you break out in hives," but it's actually quite simple. These are not indications of a properly functioning immune system.
Just because you are not coming down with a serious illness, doesn't mean you have a healthy immune system. What an allergy shows, is effectively a defect in the immune system that registers a harmless compound as being a danger. Your body's immune system has an auto-immune response, and then you swell up like a balloon. It's that simple.
The key to getting rid of your allergies (no matter what kind you have), is to bring the immune system back into a balanced, healthy state. There are many herbs and other remedies that can push you in the right direction, and we'll be going over those here, but remember, there's no substitute for eating right. The allergies develop in the first place due to an unnatural diet that eventually corrodes your immune system. To reverse this process, you have to give your body time to repair the damaged systems, which means staying away from processed foods as much as possible, and eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Coconut Oil - Immune Support

Coconut oil is excellent for gut health (yes, I know I’m back onto this one but it’s just so important for preventing and curing allergies). It improves digestion by soothing the ling of the gut and promoting the growth of good bacteria. When your gut flora is out of balance (too much bad bacteria) the body produces extra histamine, which of course, is an allergy sufferer’s worst enemy. But because coconut oil helps your gut probiotics to grow and thrive and kill off the bad bacteria, the overproduction of histamine is greatly reduced, which is welcome news for all allergy sufferers.
this super food is a very powerful “cure all” and will really do wonders for you or your child’s allergies. And the great thing is, kids love it so it’s easy to get them to eat it! You can buy virgin coconut oil online or from any good health food store. 1-2 tablespoons (or more) every day for children or adults can be safely consumed. You can never really overdose on coconut oil anyway and it’s not harmful so go nuts with it if you want! If someone did happen to have too much (like say, one of the kids got into the jar and ate the whole lot for some absurd reason) about the worst thing that would happen is they'd end up with a slight dose of the runs. So nothing too detrimental? -

Apple Cider Vinegar - Immune Support

Boosting your immune system is the single most important thing you can do to successfully treat and cure your allergies. And 80% of your immune system is actually located in your gut, so by getting your gut healthy, you will naturally get your immune system healthy! Even Ancient Chinese Medicine agrees with this. They believe that allergies are almost always related to gut and intestinal problems, so once you remedy this, you remedy annoying seasonal allergies such as hay fever or allergic rhinitis.
So how does apple cider vinegar actually fit into this? Well, ACV is a very powerful gut healer and immune booster. It also helps to promote the growth of “friendly” bacteria (probiotics) in the gut, which is another excellent home remedy for all types of allergies (our #2 pick in fact). Apple cider vinegar is also rich in potassium and magnesium. A deficiency of both these minerals has been linked to seasonal allergies and even asthma. In addition to this, ACV helps to soothe the lungs and bronchial walls and break down phlegm.
When you buy your apple cider vinegar, always make sure it’s organic ACV and still contains the mother apple (it will tell you on the bottle).

Quercetin - A Powerful Compound You May Never Have Heard Of

This potent antioxidant and bioflavonoid can be found in green tea, apples, onions, berries, and several other foods, and can also be found in brand new supercharged supplements made from natural ingredients. Quercetin prevents the immune system from releasing histamines in response to allergens, while promoting health immune system balance down the road. Taken in its natural form or around its naturally occurring compounds (as with green tea, for instance) it can be a powerful weapon against all kinds of allergies.

These plants have long been known as a source of healing, used in tonics and tinctures for hundreds of years. The stinging nettle is most adept at staving off fevers and inflammation brought on by auto-immune issues, making it a perfect tool to use against allergies. Take care to handle this herb properly, as its hairs can sting you. To eat them, you can crush them and add them to a smoothie, or even make tea out of them. They are best taken at the onset of any allergic reactions.

Not to be confused with asparagus, this traditional Chinese medicinal herb helps the body deal with inflammatory stressors with its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. The dried astragalus root taken in capsule form (about 1,500 mg per day) can be a rather potent cure for many kinds of allergies, especially the seasonal variety.

Adopting The Right Mindset

Remember, if you suffer from allergies of any kind, even if the symptoms are acute, don't fall into the trap of associating this fleeting illness with yourself. You are not your allergies. ANY allergy can be cured, and quite easily, with a raw whole food plant-based diet, for one, so if you want to go straight to the source of your discomfort, start there. Herbal healing (and the use of Neti pots) can go a long way in curing the symptoms and many of the immune issues associated with allergies, but full curing can only take place when the immune system is functioning in balance again.
The bottom line is, though, that you should discard the notion that you are stuck with these illnesses or that you are simply "allergic to peanuts," and there's nothing that can be done. That couldn't be further from the truth. Your immune system simply got wind of something it didn't like while in a compromised state, created anti-bodies for it, and now believes it must be dealt with whenever the substance is ingested. Nothing more. If you take the time to heal your body, you will reprogram it to respond correctly to these stimuli, including pollen.
